Work ability and employability within the social welfare system

Through empirical and theoretical studies, the project aims to increase knowledge of applicable criterias for evaluating work ability and employability, to be used in practical work by the authorities and parties concerned. Within the frame of the study, we follow the decision-making processes of several authorities through questionnaires and interviews. In empirical as well as theoretical analysis, particular attention is given to the dynamic character of work capacity and employability as well as to the individuals chances of working with the environment around him.

Sections of the study maps out and develops the decision-making process when evaluating work capacity and employability in a middle-sized Swedish local authority. Thereby the basis of the decisions made (for example legal and medical, as far as possible) are noted as well as how the individual has perceived and/or participated in the decision-making process.
