Welcome to the Division of Health and Society

The Division of Health and Society is an interdisciplinary research unit of the Department of Medical and Health Sciences at Linköping University. We engage in social science and humanities research in the area of health, with a focus on the complex relations that exists between health, the individual, culture and society.

The Division has particular expertise in the area that concerns communication, medical philosophy and ethics, medical sociology and anthropology, epidemiology, history and political science. We also actively collaborate with other programmes at Linköping University that do research in related areas. The Division of Health and Society offers a four-year research programme, an international master's programme and independent undergraduate programmes in both Swedish and English.

Phoenix Erasmus Mundus - Joint Doctoral Program on Dynamics of Health and Welfare

Linköping university is a partner of this new international PhD program. The division of Healh and society, IMH, is in charge of this program on behalf of the university.
